Privacy policy
Last updated 8 October 2026
The short version
- Your diary is stored only on your phone. We never receive it.
- There’s no account, no adverts, no analytics and no tracking.
- Nothing leaves your phone unless you choose to share it, back it up or export it.
- Deleting the app deletes your diary from your phone.
Who we are
Round Two is made by Melissa Attree NIVEN, Cape Town, 7925, South Africa (“we”, “us”). If you have any questions about this policy or your information, email melissa@niven.biz.
What the app stores, and where
When you use Round Two, the app saves what you enter on your own phone, in the app’s private storage. This includes:
- details of your operations, such as which joint, which side and the date
- your daily entries, such as mood, pain scores, sleep, walking, knee bend, swelling, exercises, medicines, milestones and anything you write
- your list of medicines and your reminder settings
Some of this is information about your health. It stays on your phone. We don’t have servers that receive it, and we can’t see, access or recover it.
What we collect
We don’t collect any personal information through the app. Round Two has no sign-in, no analytics or crash-reporting tools, no advertising and no tracking across other apps or websites.
Reminders
If you turn on reminders, they are scheduled by your phone’s own notification system. They don’t pass through any server of ours. You can turn them off in the app or in your phone’s settings at any time.
Backups, exports and sharing
Round Two only sends information off your phone when you ask it to:
- Backups and PDF exports. When you save a backup or export a readable copy, the app creates a file and opens your phone’s share menu. You choose where it goes, for example iCloud Drive, Google Drive, Files, or an email to yourself. That service’s own privacy policy then applies.
- Sharing your progress. When you share your progress, you see and can edit exactly what will be shared, and you choose the app it goes to, such as WhatsApp or Instagram. That app’s own privacy policy then applies.
Backup files contain your whole diary, including health information. Keep them somewhere private.
Buying the app
Purchases are handled by Apple’s App Store or Google Play. We don’t receive your payment details. The stores give us sales reports, which don’t identify you personally.
Links to other websites
The app and this website link to other organisations, such as the NHS and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. Their own privacy policies apply when you visit them.
This website
This website doesn’t use cookies, analytics or tracking. Like most websites, our hosting provider may keep short-term technical logs, such as IP addresses, to keep the site secure and running. The website loads fonts from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address to deliver them.
If you email us
If you contact us, we use your email address and message only to reply to you. We keep support emails for up to two years, then delete them. We don’t share them with anyone else.
Children
Round Two is intended for adults aged 18 and over.
Your rights
Because your diary never reaches us, you’re always in control of it: you can view, change, export or delete it in the app at any time. Deleting the app removes it from your phone.
Depending on where you live, including under South Africa’s Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), UK and EU data protection law and some US state laws, you have rights over any personal information we do hold, such as support emails. These include the right to see it, correct it and have it deleted. To use these rights, email melissa@niven.biz. You can also complain to your local data protection authority: in South Africa, the Information Regulator at inforegulator.org.za; in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Not medical advice
Round Two is a personal diary for recording your own recovery. It is not a medical device and does not give medical advice, diagnose or treat any condition. Always follow the guidance of your own surgeon and physiotherapist.
Changes to this policy
If we change how Round Two handles information, for example by adding optional cloud backup, we’ll update this page and the date at the top, and explain the change in the app before it applies to you.
